Belmond announces new GM for Eastern & Oriental Express, Win Min

The Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train, Southeast Asia proudly announces the appointment of Win Min as General Manager, effective immediately. Win Min joins E&O from Residence Phou Vao where he was Interim General Manager. Win's journey with Belmond began in 2013 in Myanmar, where he served as Hotel Manager on Orcaella, a previous Belmond river cruise. In 2017, he took on the role of Hotel Manager, overseeing both The Governor’s Residence hotel and Road to Mandalay river cruise, also previous Belmond properties. While these properties are no longer part of the Belmond portfolio, Win has continued to demonstrate remarkable leadership and adaptability, thriving in the ever-evolving hospitality landscape.

Alluring grand adventures await guests through two unique itineraries on board the iconic Eastern & Oriental Express train’s 16 dark green carriages: The Essence of Malaysia (November to February) and Wild Malaysia (March to October). Departing from Singapore and taking in destinations like Penang, Langkawi and the Taman Negara National Park, before heading back to the garden city. Along the way, travellers will be treated to extraordinary panoramic views of tropical rainforests, rivers, and rice fields, crystal clear seas, and ancestral temples, showcasing the region’s spectacular beauty. The Culinary Curator, Chef André Chiang, offers a modern take on sophisticated Malaysian cuisine.


New for 2025, the Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train, Southeast Asia, invites three of Asia’s most acclaimed Chefs to join Chef André Chiang on the three-night Wild Malaysia journeys, showcasing the best of the region’s cuisine. Entitled “Tastes of Tomorrow: A Culinary Gathering with Chef André Chiang”, Chiang is joined by Michelin-starred – Chef Vicky Cheng of restaurant Wing and VEA in Hong Kong (28 April), Chef Jason Liu of restaurant LING LONG in Beijing and Shanghai (28 July); and Chef Jungsik Yim of restaurant Jungsik in Seoul and New York (8 September).


Win is thrilled to have the opportunity to lead Southeast Asia’s iconic Eastern & Oriental Express, he comments:

The Eastern & Oriental Express runs three-night itineraries year-round, with the "Wild Malaysia" itinerary running from March to October and the “Essence of Malaysia” running from November to February.
