Luxury resorts in the region increasingly entice travelers with exclusive private villas offering unparalleled opulence and seclusion. Here is a look at some of Southeast Asia’s most distinctive private villas. Azerai Ke Ga Bay, situated 2.5 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City, overlooks an expansive 5km stretch of white sand along the East Sea. This lush and private resort is nestled in 4.5 hectares of verdant gardens and its distinctive location provides a tranquil setting, ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation. Its collection of residences perched directly over the resort’s bay — which range in size from two-bed units to multi-bedroom configurations—rank among the most spectacular in Thailand. The pick of the residences is Villa Sawan, an eight-bedroom “resort within a resort”. Home to ocean-facing views, lush gardens, and use of a cove with a private beach at the foot of the property, Villa Sawan is the ultimate exclusive escape. Guests can take a dip in the Andaman Sea or unwind by swimming laps in the 25-metre swimming pool. Staff are available and on-call throughout the stay. The villa also features a home cinema, a well-equipped gym, and spa facilities. Expansive suites, sea-facing verandahs, and extensive swimming pools are prominent in all the residences’ blend of indoor and outdoor spaces that lend themselves to intimate gatherings. Adding lustre to the proceedings is the fact that all the villas are catered for by a dedicated maid and chef who prepares home-cooked Thai and Western dishes on demand and by request. With privacy guaranteed, the residences are also perfect for special occasions such as anniversaries, birthdays, marriage proposals or celebrations with extended family or with groups of friends. Laid out along a jungle-clad mountainside at the northern end of the property and perched at an altitude of 45 to 75 meters above sea level, the ultra-luxe villas rank among the most desirable accommodations in the nation. The villas, each of which spans an expansive 260sqm, offer three bedrooms with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass that optimizes the mesmerizing sea view. Private living spaces feature tasteful, contemporary furnishings, carefully chosen artworks and subtle exterior and interior design influenced by the traditional architecture of Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital, which is an hour’s drive north of Lang Co. Each unit has its own outdoor heated infinity-edge pool. Long views over the ocean towards Laguna’s 3km-long stretch of private beach are arguably the most outstanding feature of the villas. The luxurious pavilions each afford a private pool with an infinity edge, four bathrooms, a vast living room and kitchen just a few steps from Long Beach’s aquamarine waters with islands strewn offshore. The design of the oversized accommodations caters to multigenerational travel for up to four generations; there’s a bathroom and toilet each for the children, the parents, the grandparents and either the great-grandparents or the in-laws. A big fold-out sofa and a large table in the living room encourage families to come together to talk, share a meal and play board games. Photo credits: Balcony Media Group Dreamy Villas For The Honeymooners The Anam Cam Ranh, a luxurious 12-hectare resort overlooking Long Beach on Vietnam’s Cam Ranh peninsula, is home to two exquisite villas just for honeymooners, each replete with a private pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna room and daily afternoon tea. With a design inspired by Vietnam’s Indochine era, the 180-square-metre ‘Honeymoon Villas’ are both set on 400 square metres of lush hillside land located adjacent to the grounds of the resort’s tranquil 10-treatment room spa. The picture-perfect one-bedroom villas each feature a separate living room, jacuzzi, steam and sauna room and private terrace with sun loungers overlooking a glassy-surfaced 40-square-metre private pool. The Anam Cam Ranh Unveils Suite of Romance Experiences
The Anam Cam Ranh doesn’t necessarily expect to be the same setting for any couple’s proposal, wedding, honeymoon and renewal of vows, but a host of remarkable new packages invites such a possibility. Photo credits: The Anam Cam Ranh The experiences leverage a storybook setting on Vietnam’s Cam Ranh peninsula, replete with uninterrupted views of toast-brown sands, turquoise waters, dramatic headlines and islands offshore that come together as one of Vietnam’s most picture-perfect seaside enclaves. Since its 2017 grand opening, the 12-hectare resort has celebrated countless proposals, weddings and honeymoons. The Anam Cam Ranh’s proposal experience is anchored by a private candle-lit dining set-up on the resort’s beach, by one of its three unusually compelling swimming pools or in the privacy of a private-pool villa. A four-course menu is cooked by a private chef and served by a private waiter, with two Asian menus and two Western menus to choose from. The ‘Romantic Dinner’ menus feature the likes of entrees ‘Banana flower salad with Bay scallops, oyster Florentina’ and ‘Field mushroom cappuccino with pancetta wrapped scallops and garlic crostini’ and mains ‘Steamed fresh grouper with shitake mushroom sauce and spring onion’ and ‘West Coast pink roasted rack of lamb with Mediterranean vegetable timbale garlic candies’. Weddings range from an intimate ceremony for two on the beachfront or vast lawn to a larger formal dining arrangement for up to 500 family and friends. Sweeteners for the bride and groom include a live guitarist and violinist during the ceremony, all sorts of exquisite flower arrangements, and a three-tier wedding cake. “Our resort’s meticulous wedding planner sees to every last detail for the occasion of a lifetime, saving the bride and groom the often immense stress of orchestrating a wedding themselves,” said The Anam Group’s commercial director Martin Koerner. Photo credits: The Anam Cam Ranh “There is also scope for wedding ceremonies and receptions to be staged at the adjacent beachfront Axi Plaza, a multifunctional convention centre with a design inspired by Vietnam’s ubiquitous coracle boat. A state-of-the-art conference hall, a 360-degree rooftop venue, and a stunning outdoor beachfront event space are among Axi Plaza’s highlights.” With a design inspired by Vietnam’s Indochine era, the 180-square-metre ‘Honeymoon Villas’ are both set on 400 square metres of lush hillside land located adjacent to the grounds of the resort’s tranquil 10-treatment room spa. The picture-perfect one-bedroom villas each feature a separate living room, jacuzzi, steam and sauna room and private terrace with sun loungers overlooking a glassy-surfaced 40-square-metre private pool. The villas’ romantic appeal draws on the Indochine period with the likes of imperial style roofs, big-bellied water vases, lanterns, and customized mosaic tiles. A private BBQ in the villa, a romantic ritual at The Anam Spa including a body scrub, Sothys Paris facial and moisturizing milk bath, and movies on the beach are among the honeymoon experiences on offer. The Honeymoon Villas come with complimentary daily afternoon tea, served either in the privacy of the villa, at The Colonial fine dining restaurant that features a quaint courtyard or a scenic spot such as amid the resort’s verdant gardens or on Long Beach. Like the wedding packages, the renewal of vows packages also feature a night’s stay in a Premium Room or Garden View Villa, with free upgrades depending on availability. A myriad of lush settings across the resort, including reflecting ponds, manicured lawns, and cobblestone pathways framed by established greenery, make for striking pre-wedding and wedding photo backdrops. A new look for this Caribbean dream team
Wymara Resort + Villas – a privately-owned, ultra-luxurious Caribbean sanctuary in Turks and Caicos Islands - has introduced a new look for team members across all departments ahead of the main 24/25 season.  Photo credits: Wymara Resort + Villas Taking inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds the resort and villas, and working closely with Miami-based JA Uniforms, a full range of clothing has been designed and manufactured to reflect and enhance the look and feel of the resort and serve as a visual illustration of its core commitment to sustainability. Shelley Rincon, CEO at Wymara Resort + Villas outlined the original design brief as “creating new team uniforms that are as distinctive and elegant as the resort, while also showcasing the islands’ heritage and vibrancy through colours, patterns and prints. More importantly, they also needed to be fit for purpose and to support our ethical and sustainable mission.” Alex Arencibia, owner and founder of JA Uniforms, said that his team worked hard to ensure that aesthetic, practical, ethical and commercial concerns were all addressed before finalising the range. The design team selected key motifs and colour palettes including coral prints, palm fronds and shades of blue that recall the sky and sea, along with Wymara’s own logo. Garments are made from performance fabrics suited to each role, notably sun protection for beach attendants and landscaping teams, and lightweight yet hardwearing materials to offer comfort and durability for front-of-house, kitchen, housekeeping and maintenance teams. Photo credits: Wymara Resort + Villas “The objective is to enhance the guest experience while ensuring staff comfort and addressing client needs,” says Mr Arencibia. “We looked closely at ways to create the most sustainable range, and while natural fibres are often biodegradable, they require more water for washing, thorough rinsing, more detergent, and longer wash cycles. In contrast, the fabrics that we have selected include synthetic fibres that offer great comfort, breathability, and performance, generally having a much longer lifespan which lower replacement rate, making them more cost-effective.” Team members in all departments will be sporting the new uniforms from autumn 2024 which were launched internally via a series of runway shows using models from each team at one of the resort’s stunning Penthouse Suites overlooking Grace Bay Beach. Shelley Rincon said “We are really pleased with the results – the new uniforms truly support the guest experience at Wymara with a clear visual expression of the Turks & Caicos experience, celebrating sun and sea, in style.”
